About the Painting…

I have two house rabbits who have been the models for more than a dozen paintings. This painting features my white rabbit, Eleanor (Ellie). 

My rabbits live mostly in my studio laying at my feet. They make a really fun pet – they are friendly and full of personality. They love to cuddle with each other, but are much more reserved with humans. As tame and domesticated as they are, they retain quite a bit of their wild and could transition back to that lifestyle much easier than cats or dogs. 

In this painting, I’m imagining Ellie back in the wild. I wanted her to be peeping out from behind every corner and fill the setting.
